Repositories are public from the first commit. The code is licensed, forkable, and reviewable — not a demo that disappears once it has served its purpose.
Solo software studio · Sri Lanka
Siyana Code is the solo software studio of Rasindu Appuhami — open-source systems, tools, and education projects, built in public and available for client work.
Siyana Lang — a language built to write an operating system.
What Siyana Code is
Everything under this name shares the same habits. They are not marketing — they are the constraints the projects are built around.
Repositories are public from the first commit. The code is licensed, forkable, and reviewable — not a demo that disappears once it has served its purpose.
The work is the portfolio. Real projects, real process, real gaps — published as they happen rather than polished after the fact.
Tools that respect your data. No account, no server, no telemetry — your files and your ledger stay on your device unless you move them yourself.
The work
A systems language, a local-first viewer, an offline ledger, a free maths site — and the smaller experiments that came before them. All open source.
A general-purpose language built for one constraint: writing an operating system without an external toolchain.
View repositoryA fast, safe, local-first Markdown viewer for Windows and Linux. No account, no upload, no telemetry.
View repositoryA private, offline-first ledger for the money you lend and borrow. Your ledger never leaves the phone.
View repositoryFree maths learning for Sri Lankan students, Grade 6 to O-Level, matched to the NIE syllabus.
View repositoryA hobby x86_64 operating system in Rust and assembly — bootloader, kernel, and the long road after.
A messaging app whose log is authoritative on both sides, so online and offline behave the same.
OL past-paper MCQ practice for Sri Lankan students, in Sinhala.
An elegant scientific calculator and 12-in-1 unit converter.
An inventory and point-of-sale system — FastAPI backend with a React Native mobile client.
A single-expression arithmetic language in Python — the first seed of the Siyana language family.
A typing practice website, built while learning the basics of the web.
A Kanban board with drag-and-drop and localStorage, in vanilla JavaScript.
How I work
Open source is not just a license. It is a way of working — and the way of working is what makes the projects worth reading.
Every project starts with the problem written down, not a framework choice. The research lives in the repository, in plain English, next to the code.
Architecture decision records and a decision log. If a choice is not written down, it is not a choice — and the next person to read the code should not have to guess.
Small, reviewed commits. Tests that fail for a reason. Nothing hidden behind a private branch waiting for a reveal that never comes.
One real project at a time. Finished and usable beats ten half-built ideas — and a shipped tool teaches more than a planned one.
Client work
Siyana Code is a studio of one. That means the person you email is the person who writes the code — and the open-source work is the evidence.
Next.js and TypeScript, accessible and fast, shipped with tests and a written decision log.
React Native with Expo, and Flutter — offline-first, with data that stays on the device.
FastAPI and Node, Postgres where it earns its place, and schemas that express the real invariants.
C and Rust, plus the Siyana language work — for when the cost has to be visible in the source.
Syllabus-matched, mobile-first, low-data — built for the constraints students actually live with.
